The rain came suddenly, catching Claire unprepared as she rushed through the crowded market street. She ducked under a nearby awning, brushing water from her hair, when she literally collided with someone.
An Unexpected Meeting
Strong hands steadied her as she stumbled. She looked up into the most captivating green eyes she'd ever seen, framed by dark, rain-wet hair.
"I'm so sorry," she breathed, but the man was already smiling—a genuine, warm smile that made her heart skip.
"Don't be," he said, his voice like warm honey. "This might be the best thing that's happened to me all week."
His name was Daniel, and he was a photographer visiting the city for an exhibition. They talked under that awning for what felt like hours, while the rain continued to fall around them like they were living inside a snow globe.
